Roof Flashings

Once again, a termination issue, improperly fabricated and applied roof flashings usually causes significant damage. The concentrated flow of water along the roof can actually “pressure inject” water behind the stucco. The most common defect occurs with the absence, improper fabrication, or misapplication of “kick-out” flashings. While not the only flashing issue which occurs, the absence or presence is easily observable and often cited by inspectors. Unfortunately, just because it is there, doesn’t mean it is working, and if it is not “doing its job”, there is most likely significant damage occurring. The following slideshow documents this problem.
